Designed by Tom Fazio, one of the most celebrated golf course designers of our time, this 7,564-yard, par-71 championship course challenges players of all levels while complementing the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. With superb routing, awe-inspiring scenery, and a fine staff of caddies, the course features a meandering creek with a series of lakes and shot values that enhance its playability and scenic appeal, ensuring that it will become known as one of the finest mountain golf courses in America. And that's just the beginning.
Glenwild Golf Club is seeking a self-starting Lead Assistant Superintendent, who will be an energetic leader, as part of the Golf Course Maintenance team and will be entrusted with the development and management of the golf course. This is management position that will be hands on that leads by example as needed that will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Director of Agronomy.

- In the Fall of 2026 9 holes will be closed to start this project and in 2027 the golf course will be closed to complete the project led by Tim Jackson with Jackson Kahn Design (JKD).
- Exposure to maintain and improve a Top 200 Golf Course designed by Tom Fazio.
- A new driving range and practice facility completed in 2023,
- 3000 additional square feet of shop storage being completed in October 2025
- 2000 foot deep well currently being completed in Fall of 2025.
- A renovation of the golf course will start in the Fall of 2026 including:
- New 2 wire irrigation system, Cirrus PRO operating system and HDPE piping,
- 2 new greens complexes and a new practice green
- 7 green expansions of current green complexes
- All new bunkers with Bunker Solutions liner. Bunkers will be relocated as needed by JKD
- All new laser leveled tee boxes with new additional forward tees being added
- New concrete cart paths
- Update to date maintenance fleet with various Autonomous mowers, Frost GPS sprayers, Greenkeeper and Deacon GS3 Ball programs in place with all equipment needed to maintain the course as needed.
- The core year-round team is 8-10 staff members while the seasonal staff will add an additional 35-40 members to the team. Organization and leadership are a must to be successful in this position
- Winter maintenance includes planning for upcoming season, including hiring of seasonal staff, snow clearing of clubhouse and golf course as needed, cross country trail maintenance, and equipment and amenity refurbishment.

- Self-starter, independent thinker, able to work independently in a "fast-paced" environment.
- Great personality, sense of humor, energetic, problem solver at heart, and takes pride in good decision making.
- Working as part of a team, collaborating and interacting with up to 40 seasonal maintenance staff members and while communicating with other departments.
Initial Priorities of the Position:
- Learn the culture and daily operational needs of the club to make an impact and positive impression.
- Develop relationships and rapport with existing team members and direct reports.
- Become proficient in daily course set up, chemical and fertilizer applications, mowing, hand-watering and irrigation practices of oneself and others to ensure the expectations of the membership are met daily.
- Develop leadership capabilities to instruct staff in planning, scheduling and execution of daily operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-of experience in golf course, turf related business
- A 2- or 4-year degree/certificate in agronomy horticulture/plant/soil sciences is preferred but not required.
- Ability to obtain a Utah pesticide license within 90-days
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of the golf and turf industry
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all aspects of golf course maintenance including renovation needs
- Lead and train crew members, ensuring effective and safe practices
- Monitor turf health and contribute to agronomic programs
- Support record-keeping, budget tracking, and long-term planning
- Partner with the Superintendent and Director of Agronomy on execution of course goals
Essential Functions:
- Direct and oversee staff in daily activities with focus on quality standards
- Serve as liaison between staff and management
- Supervise training programs and ensure compliance with documentation
- Manage IPM program (pesticide/fertilizer applications and records)
- Assist with interviews, evaluations, and onboarding
- Coordinate specialty equipment and oversee infrastructure (pump stations, etc.)
- Maintain greens data (speed, firmness, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support irrigation system maintenance
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Recommend process improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
