Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is a national veterinary practice dedicated exclusively to end-of-life care, including in-home hospice, euthanasia, and quality-of-life consultations. Founded with the mission of honoring the human–animal bond, Lap of Love has grown into the leading provider of compassionate, in-home end-of-life veterinary care across the country.
As a Lap of Love Student Ambassador, you will represent our mission at your veterinary school by supporting student outreach, coordinating educational events, and helping raise awareness about the importance of end-of-life veterinary care. This is an opportunity to build leadership skills, connect with veterinary professionals, and engage your peers in meaningful conversations around topics that complement the clinical training provided in school.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote Lap of Love educational opportunities, lectures/workshops, and programs to fellow veterinary students.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating Lap of Love-sponsored lectures or workshops at your school.
- Help coordinate event logistics, including communication with student organizations, room reservations and meal ordering/set up.
- Distribute and manage Lap of Love marketing materials.
- Engage with students to encourage participation in lectures/workshops, surveys and feedback initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between Lap of Love and your school’s faculty, staff, veterinary clubs, and career services.
- Build relationships with SCVMA, VBMA and other relevant student club officers to support event planning.
- Ensure all events align with Lap of Love’s mission and follow university guidelines, including completion of any paperwork requirements.
- Provide feedback on student engagement and event outcomes.
- Assist with recruiting and training successor.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Enrolled veterinary student and must be in good academic standing with GPA as per school requirements.
- Does not currently hold any conflicting student representative positions.
Qualifications
- Passion for client communication and end-of-life veterinary care.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication and resourcefulness skills.
- Ability to engage with peers and promote educational learning opportunities and programs.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and coordinating with faculty and student organizations.
Commitment: 1 - 2 hours a week for 1 academic year
