Description
About the Role
You will sit at the center of our portfolio strategy engine—measuring and managing risk, translating macro and market signals into portfolio actions, and upgrading our reporting and analytics. You’ll also collaborate with teammates on manager research where relevant, giving you broad exposure to the full investment process.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and evaluate total-portfolio risk: factor exposures, contributions, drawdown/variance, and liquidity.
- Synthesize macro/market views with the investment team to inform allocation, tilts, and rebalancing.
- Own and enhance risk reporting; manage vendor relationships (risk systems, data/analytics); maintain core models in Excel/Python.
- Build decision tools: ad-hoc quantitative analyses, Monte Carlo, and portfolio construction/optimization (e.g., regularization, resampling, bootstrapping).
- Support manager evaluation with data-driven insights as needed.
Tools You’ll Use
- Bloomberg, Northern Trust FOS, Hamilton Lane Cobalt, Venn, and similar other software and databases.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- 2–4 years of relevant experience (portfolio/risk/performance analytics strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, math, statistics, data science, computer science, or related field.
- Working knowledge of portfolio theory, macroeconomics, and statistics; strong problem-solving and communication.
- Proficiency in Excel and Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib, etc.).
- Team-first mindset: curious, candid, ethical, and committed to SITFO’s mission and fiduciary duty.
