Position Overview
The Housing & Career Navigator plays a vital role in helping program participants achieve stability and independence. This position focuses on two areas critical to long-term success: securing affordable, stable housing and obtaining sustainable employment with livable wages. In addition, the Navigator will provide ongoing support to recent program graduates as they transition into alumni status, helping them stay connected and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Housing Navigation
- Provide resources, assistance, and accountability to help participants secure affordable, stable housing upon completion of Lindsey House program.
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers.
- Continually research and share available housing options while assisting participants with the application process.
- Address barriers to housing and connect participants with community resources when needed.
Career Navigation
- Work with program coordinators to assist participants with job readiness skills, career paths, and employment applications.
- Partner with workforce organizations and employers to expand job opportunities with livable wages.
- Connect participants to training, credentialing, and advancement opportunities.
- Stay current on labor market trends to inform participant support and employer engagement.
Alumni Support
- Provide check-ins, resource referrals, and support to graduates transitioning to alumni status.
- Maintain ongoing relationships and track alumni engagement to support long-term stability.
- Share opportunities and resources to promote continued growth and connection to the program.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to program operations as needed, including assistance with facilities, events, applications/interviews, and other day-to-day program needs.
- Track participant progress and outcomes related to housing, employment, and alumni engagement.
- Contribute to program evaluation by maintaining accurate data and reports.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director or CEO.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or 2-3 years of related work experience.
- Strong understanding of people with trauma histories, the need for trauma-informed policies and approaches, and the challenges faced by the community we serve.
- Effective critical thinking skills and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Compensation Range
The salary for the position is based on the experience of the chosen candidate, and the budget range is $45,000 to $50,000. Lindsey House covers 100% of the cost for employee medical and dental insurance coverage and provides a retirement plan match up to 3%. Additionally, the organization offers 10 paid holidays, 2 personal days, 10 days of vacation, and 10 days of sick leave each year.
