The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is seeking several exceptional faculty candidates in Gynecologic Oncology to join our dynamic team. This full-time, non-tenure track, faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of care in a field that impacts the lives of our community. We are looking for a passionate educator and skilled clinician to help shape the future of Gynecologic Oncology.
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated excellence in patient care and clinical teaching who are enthusiastic about working with a multidisciplinary, collaborative team, contributing to the academic mission of the Department. Candidates with some experience in an academic setting or desire to be in an academic practice will be given preference.
We are affiliated with University Medical Center with a great infusion center, OR with 2 Da Vinci robots, and multidisciplinary teams. We are in the planning stages to create a new state-of-the-art multidisciplinary Cancer Center to complement a basic science lab in women’s health.
Responsibilities
- Join an encouraging Gynecologic Oncology team comprising of Gynecologic Oncologists, NPs, RNs, medical assistants, and patient support staff on with a fully integrated reporting system in the outpatient area.
- Telemedicine capabilities providing consultation to critical access shortage hospitals.
- Actively provide comprehensive and compassionate care to cancer patients with a wide range of complex gynecologic, medical and surgical needs.
- Perform both routine and complex gynecologic surgeries and procedures, if so desired.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients through our perinatal network which includes a cohesive, highly caring NICU team and pediatric surgical subspecialties.
- Contribute to the educational mission of the Department by teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.
- Lead and collaborate on ongoing Gynecologic Oncology quality/safety metrics and other scholarly projects within Gynecologic Oncology, with the goal of advancing the field and improving patient outcomes.
- Share inpatient consult service.
- Work with a clinically strong laborist group that follows routine protocols who uses the consult service judiciously and respectfully.
- Engage in community outreach and education to raise awareness about gynecologic and medical health.
- Participate in Departmental and Institutional committees, contributing to the governance and advancement of our academic community.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited or RCPSC-accredited Residency Program in OB/GYN.
- Successfully completed an ACGME-accredited or RCPSC-accredited Fellowship Program in Gynecologic Oncology.
- Eligible for Texas medical license.
- Will be seeking Board Certification in OB/GYN and Gynecologic Oncology within three years of arrival.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching.
