Description

• Plan, oversee, and implement all maintenance activities on the golf course, such as mowing, fertilization, irrigation, aeration, and pest control.
• Lead and manage the grounds maintenance team, which includes hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Supervise the operation and upkeep of irrigation and drainage systems.
• Develop and manage the turf care operating budget, forecasting labor, materials, and equipment costs.
• Create and adhere to agronomic fertilization and pest management plan
• Ensure all agronomic practices adhere to local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with management to plan and execute golf events, projects, and course enhancements.
• Monitor course conditions and modify maintenance strategies to ensure optimal playing conditions.
• Keep accurate records of pesticide and fertilizer applications, water usage, and equipment servicing.
• Engage in ongoing education to remain updated on best practices, technology, and regulatory changes.

• Degree or certification in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
• Valid pesticide applicator's license.
• Strong understanding of agronomic practices, pest and disease identification, and turf equipment.
• Experience in managing irrigation systems, both manual and automated.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Experience with cool-season or warm-season grasses (customization may be needed based on your region).
• Project management experience (e.g., bunker renovation, drainage installation, or turf conversion).
• Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Physical demands include lifting, standing, bending, and operating machinery.
