RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking a Full-Time Neonatologist for Employment in Jersey City, NJ
RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system, is currently seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Neonatologist to join our dedicated team at Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC). This position offers the opportunity to practice in a community hospital setting with a 41-bed Level IIIB NICU that delivers high-acuity neonatal care in a supportive, collaborative environment.
About the NICU:
- 41-bed Level IIIB NICU
- High-frequency ventilation (oscillator and jet)
- Therapeutic hypothermia (body cooling)
- Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) capability
- Full pediatric subspecialty support
- Multidisciplinary team including experienced neonatal nurses, a dedicated registered dietitian, rehabilitation therapists (PT/OT/ST) lactation therapists, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for critically ill and premature infants
- Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation
- Attend interdisciplinary rounds
- Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists, nursing, and ancillary staff
- Engage with families to review care plans and provide regular updates
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
- Share equitable call coverage with a collegial team
- May provide outpatient follow-up care through the High-Risk Infant Follow-Up Program (if available at the assigned site)
About the Position:
- Full-time, hospital-employed role at JCMC
- Provide comprehensive in-house neonatal coverage
- Support and attend high-risk deliveries
- Opportunity to consult with antepartum patients
- While not required, participation in research activities to enhance the visibility of our neonatology program is welcomed and encouraged
Candidate Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
- Strong commitment to patient care, education, and teamwork

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $200,000 to $400,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
