Description
The Office of the Vice Provost f or Faculty and Academic Affairs has the mission of working to enrich our campus community by furthering the primacy of the academic mission, advocating for faculty, and enhancing teaching and learning.Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs, the Executive Director of Accreditation and Program Review works closely with academic deans and other leaders at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) to provide leadership, expertise, direction, and support for IUB's key campus effectiveness functions, including the multiple facets of complex accreditation reviews, program review, and administrative reviews.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to ensure compliance with HLC standards and to seek best practices and to set standards of quality and consistency for accreditation reporting.
- Oversees IU Bloomington's compliance with HLC accreditation guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Updates and advises campus leadership on potential issues related to HLC compliance.
- Supports the campus's HLC Quality Initiative and similar initiatives, such as the Carnegie Community Engagement Reclassification.
- Engages with the Campus Curriculum Committee to monitor HLC substantive changes and to advise on HLC requirements.
- Oversees and ensures the quality of program review for academic degree programs and schools centers and institutes.
- Leads and manages the process for the periodic reviews of deans and other academic leaders.
- Collaborates with and support university-level colleagues on matters related to accreditation, program review, administrative reviews, and other strategic effectiveness initiatives.
- In coordination with educational leadership, facilitates and manages the multiple facets related to Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation and administrator review.
- Collaborates with faculty and staff across the university to seek information and data necessary to document accreditation compliance.
- Consolidates and organizes relevant, data, information, and policies from institutional sources.
- Monitors and understands HLC accreditation requirements, including pending and final changes to HLC standards, reporting requirements, and policies.
- Advises executive leadership on enterprise effectiveness and accreditation, and necessary institutional changes to maintain compliance, when needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Master's degree in English, library sciences, history, or similar humanities disciplines or Higher Education
- Master's degree along with the knowledge of accreditation policies and procedures as well as program and administrative review practices

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.
