Description
Our Peace Region Practice is looking to add a capable, enthusiastic Engineer-in-Training to our growing Dawson Creek office! As an Engineer-in-Training, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of engineering projects while contributing directly to the growth of our local team and playing a key role in shaping the future of our Dawson Creek presence. We are searching for a curious and solutions-focused individual who wants to build their career alongside our team of established practitioners. We are excited to find someone who leads with purpose, is motivated to tackle complex problems through a community-centric approach, and approaches work to be in service of others.
Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, do you see yourself excited to contribute to:
- Registering, or intending to register, upon eligibility, as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC or an equivalent provincial or territorial association.
- Growing our consulting practice with a focus on building relationships with Peace Region Indigenous communities and local governments.
- Engaging with our clients to understand their unique challenges, working collaboratively as a team to explore solutions, and developing thoughtful and workable strategies for the design and implementation of municipal infrastructure.
- Acting as the client's representative on-site during construction to gather information, conduct inspections, and ensure that designs are built to specifications.
- Providing accurate and timely input on technical reports, plans, studies, proposals, and presentations that present information in a manner easily understood by a wide variety of audiences.
- Project management and budgeting, including securing funding through Indigenous Services Canada processes, developing scopes of work, coordinating sub-consultants, and learning about budgets.
- Conducting technical reviews of engineering drawings, design reports, and related deliverables prepared by clients, internal teams, and subconsultants.
- Preparing contract tender documents, including the development of detailed cost estimates.
- Developing strong trusting relationships internally to understand our service offerings and the team members you’ll be working with to build commitment to a culture built on trust.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate is a recent graduate from a civil or environmental engineering program, with up to 3 years of experience, and is registered or intending to register, upon eligibility, as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC or an equivalent provincial or territorial association. - You possess a valid Class 5 Drivers’ Licence and are willing and able to travel to project sites throughout the Peace Region.
