Description
A Little About Us and Our Privately Owned, Multi-Specialty Hospital
ACCESS (Advanced Critical Care, Emergency and Specialty Services) was founded in 2005 when Dr. Rich Mills, a board-certified criticalist, set out to bring specialty veterinary care to Los Angeles. As demand grew, so did ACCESS – expanding to the San Fernando Valley, South Bay, and eventually, Pasadena and Palm Beach County (FL) in 2021. While the first three hospitals are now part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, ACCESS – Pasadena and ACCESS – Palm Beach County remain proudly independent and privately owned by veterinarians. This means decisions are made in our hospitals, not in a boardroom, allowing us to stay flexible, focused, and deeply connected to the pets, pet owners, and primary care veterinarians we serve every day.
We’ll Give You Independence, Trust, and Collaboration
We keep red tape to a minimum and avoid layers of bureaucracy. We trust our doctors to make swift decisions that matter to them, their patients, and pet owners.
However, as an ER doctor with us you will never feel alone. Our ER doctors are fully supported by Criticalists who are always willing to jump in to help offer guidance and advice, and a team of specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine and Neurology who are always close by and happy to collaborate with an informal hallway consult, or to take a transfer when needed. We hold wetlabs to give you an opportunity to learn and practice hands on skills and are also happy to do one on one training on any areas you would like to learn more about. You will fit right in if you are willing to learn, grow and support your fellow ER doctors and team!
We’ll Give You the Tools and People to Get the Job Done
Our 21,000 sq. ft. hospital is equipped with advanced technology, including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, a cloud-based EMR, cardiac and abdominal ultrasounds, and a comprehensive in-house lab. But it’s our people who truly make the difference.
Our dedicated team of technicians, animal care assistants, doctor’s assistants, customer service representatives, and managers, share your commitment to exceptional patient and client care. With a customized technician training program and dedicated trainers, we value every team member and support their growth, fostering a supportive environment where continuous learning thrives.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an enthusiastic ER doctor who enjoys the fun and challenge of swings and/or overnight shifts. We have flexible scheduling options and will work with you to find a schedule that works well for you.
You will have a busy and diverse caseload with plenty of support from other ER doctors and specialists to allow you to focus on providing the best patient care. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
