We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Specialist to help shape and expand our ER/ECC team as part of Sunstone’s steady growth and to support our commitment to excellence in patient care. About You
You’re a licensed and practicing veterinarian, in good standing with the State of Oregon or ready to obtain an Oregon license. You are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency and Critical Care. You are committed to practicing high-quality, evidence-based medicine and surgery and consider yourself a lifetime learner—always seeking to expand your knowledge and refine your skills. If you have a particular clinical passion, we encourage you to explore it here; we welcome your expertise to broaden the services we provide to our community.
You have a patient-centered approach, valuing open communication with pet owners—even those who need a little extra understanding—and you bring warmth and positivity into the exam room and treatment areas. About the Team
The full-time staff currently consists of our10 Veterinarians, 13 Technicians,10 Referral Coordinators, and13 awesome Tech/Doctor Assistant! The team consistently praises the hard-working, family-like atmosphere in the building. Additionally, the high percentage of full-time team members ensures continuity and collaboration that few other practices can offer.

For 10years,Sunstone Veterinary Specialists, an independently owned practice, has served the needs of pet owners and their dogs and cats in the greater Portland area. The state-of-the-art9000 sq. ft. hospital, housed within a mid-century modern building from1979, underwent a complete interior redesign in2023, and features ample treatment space,2dedicated surgery suites, 5 procedure suites, and an impressive list of modern equipment. We make every effort to invest in our clinical capabilities and would be delighted to add to our service offerings if you possess unique skills. From a workflow perspective, we operate on a triage system,minimizing walk-ins and managing our caseload to keep our commitment to exceptional personal care and attention.
