Description

Hillsborough New Jersey is hiring for individual Inspector positions.  MUST HOLD NEW JERSEY UNIFORM CONSTRUCTION CODE LICENSE AS ISSUED BY THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE POSITION YOU ARE APPLYING FOR. 

Under direction of the Construction Official and Subcode Official of each individual discipline, the Electrical Inspector, Fire/Electrical Inspector and Plumbing Inspector, each have the technical responsibility for administering the adopted NJ Codes as amended by the NJ Uniform Construction Code (UCC) within the specific jurisdiction. This is a full-time, 40 hour work week, non supervisory AFSCME union position; salary based on union contract.  Potential year-end stipend for use of additional technical license.  Township vehicle and inspection tools provided.

Each Inspector position conducts inspection of construction within their respectively licensed position.  Ensures conformance to the Electrical Subcode, Fire Protection Subcode and Plumbing & Mechanical Subcode.  Ensures compliance with released construction documents and regulated New Jersey codes. Within the scope of construction, each position ensures the health, safety and welfare of the general public using and/or owning
commercial/residential buildings and structures.
