Description
Antelope Valley Care Center, a respected skilled nursing facility in Lancaster, CA, is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. We are looking for a strong leader who can inspire, mentor, and hold staff accountable while maintaining a culture of compassion and excellence in resident care.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide confident leadership, discipline, education, and training for the nursing team
- Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with staff, residents, families, and external agencies
- Communicate effectively with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Be hands-on and visible on the floor, leading by example
- Ensure thorough and accurate documentation in PointClickCare (PCC)
- Oversee survey preparation, execution, and corrective action plans
- Mentor and develop staff for professional growth and retention
- Resolve conflicts and foster a positive work culture
- Drive improvements in quality measures and maintain high standards of care
- Manage budgets, staffing, and scheduling for nursing services
- Analyze data and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with department heads to achieve facility-wide goals
Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered RN license in California
- Minimum 3 years of Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility
- In-depth knowledge of SNF state and federal regulations
- Proven success in leading nursing teams and improving facility performance
- Proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC)
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Compassionate, resident-focused approach to leadership
