Job Description
Ashley Hall is seeking a highly qualified Director of Health Services to provide oversight and day-to-day management of the School’s Health Services department. This position ensures the delivery of whole-person healthcare while aligning with the highest clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Health Services Leadership and Administration
Provide leadership for the Health Center, including supervision and evaluation of staff nurses.
Establish and implement departmental policies and procedures in accordance with South Carolina law and best clinical practices.
Develop annual objectives, structure operations, and manage the department budget and expenditures.
Prepare reports and attend Administrative Team meetings as requested.
Recommend staffing and facility needs to the Assistant Head of School for Student Affairs.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Clinical Practice and Oversight
Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and BLS Instructor certifications.
Provide or coordinate CPR, AED, and First Aid training for employees and students.
Maintain standing orders and a Written Practice Agreement, reviewed and signed annually by the collaborative physician.
Oversee campus emergency preparedness, including inspections of AEDs, bleeding control kits, and emergency medications.
Manage memorandums of agreement with MUSC School-Based Health, Labcorp, MedPro, and other health partners.
Maintain the school’s Pharmacy Non-Dispensing Drug Outlet Permit and CLIA Waiver.
Collaboration and Training
Partner with Counseling, Admissions, and Human Resources to address student and staff wellness needs.
Possibly serve as a clinical preceptor for APRN students in collaboration with local nursing programs.
Collaborate with Assistant Head of School for Student Affairs to deliver training related to health, safety, and emergency response.
Coordinate on-site vaccination clinics and annual immunization tracking in compliance with SC DPH requirements
Health Records and Technology Management
Oversee student and employee medical records in August Schools and Practice Fusion platforms.
Assign and monitor staff access to platforms such as Practice Fusion, August Schools, SchoolHealth, NASN, and others.
Utilize UpDox for secure pre-employment medical documentation and Square Appointments for new-hire testing.
Ensure data compliance and oversee accurate recordkeeping for all trainings and inspections.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required
Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP)
Active or eligible South Carolina APRN license with Prescriptive Authority
Current BLS Certification; ACLS recommended
BLS Instructor Certification
DEA and NPI registration (or ability to obtain)
1–6 years of experience in a leadership or advanced practice clinical role
Proficiency with EHR platforms, especially Practice Fusion and August Schools
Strong clinical background in acute and family care
Proven leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of working on a computer or moving around campus
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (e.g., emergency supplies, training equipment)
Ability to respond promptly to emergencies and walk long distances on campus
Manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment
Visual acuity to monitor health conditions and manage digital records

Time Commitment
Typical Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; schedule may vary depending on school needs
Evenings/Weekends: Occasional attendance or coverage for school events and emergency response
Schedule: Full-time, 12-month position
