Services are provided for free, in partnership with the survivor in the spirit of equality, free from judgement or oppression. About the Opportunity
The Director of Development works in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors to lead the organization’s overall fundraising strategy, establish and achieve annual philanthropy goals in accordance with the organization's mission, and to ensure the organization's long-term sustainability. This individual will report to the CEO and lead the creation and execution of Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center’s (ZCenter) annual development plan, including fundraising campaigns, special events, and planned giving initiatives. Other key responsibilities include marketing and community outreach. There are currently two direct reports to the Director of Development, including Grants and Marketing Manager and Compliance Manager.
As part of the leadership team at ZCenter, the Director of Development will be flexible in response to the needs of the organization, and with the entire staff, will be responsible for quality service delivery throughout the agency. They will demonstrate a commitment to the mission and philosophy of ZCenter, which includes making an impact on preventing and addressing sexual assault/abuse, creating a society free from violence, and working in a cooperative environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is a salaried, exempt, full-time position with a salary range of $90,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on professional and lived experience. Additionally, ZCenter offers a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, vision, and dental insurance, PTO, and holidays. The position will function within a hybrid working environment after 3 months of employment with 3 days on-site at the Skokie office, primarily, with a few times a month at the Gurnee office and 2 days remote.

Requirements
Employees of ZCenter must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner conducive to positive experiences for donors, clients, volunteers, co-workers, and supervisors.
The following are desired of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Has 5-7 years of experience in fundraising; with 3 years of management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising programs, including experience managing government grants.
- A collaborative team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse populations.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, to analyze and solve complex problems, and to exercise sound judgment.
- Possesses technical and creative writing skills.
- Ability to accept, understand, and relate sensitively to people of varied socio-economic, racial, cultural, and experiential backgrounds.
- Proficiency with Little Green Light or similar donor databases, preferred.
