Description
We are seeking an experienced Deputy States Director to support our project to build management and strategic capacity in our campaign to rein in Big Tech. The ideal candidate has experience with the progressive organizational infrastructure inside states, organizational partners in coalitions, and working with consultants and state electeds. This remote position can be located anywhere in the United States but will require occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
- Assist States Director in the management of a tech accountability campaign in targeted states.
- Implement strategies and coaching to achieve project goals and track progress toward goals
- Work with researchers and policy experts to develop best strategies to hold tech oligarchs and electeds accountable.
- Engage national funders, partners, and allies through regular updates and briefings about state-level activities
Requirements
- At least 3 years of management experience in strategic communications, 2 years of experience in campaign management or other relevant experience working with progressive groups
- Experience organizing or assisting in the coordination of coalitions, partnerships, or other efforts with multiple stakeholders
- Comfort working in a flexible, fast-paced, dynamic environment where changes in external factors can create new opportunities and challenges to existing strategies
- Commitment to protecting and preserving truth on issues like protecting democracy, racial/gender/LGBTQ+ equity, education, the environment, and more
- Very strong organizational and communication skills
