Category Manager, Kroger - Mars Petcare

Cincinnati, OH

Hybrid Role - 2-3 days per week in office

The Kroger Category Manager is responsible for serving as a trusted advisor to the Kroger account team and retailer for the Mars Petcare segment. The role is expected to provide insight-based shopper-focused solutions and develop strategies to enable category and retailer growth. Additionally, the role will be expected to provide insights and strategy recommendations to drive Omnichannel growth across all pet categories.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2+ years of category/analytics/sales experience
• Proficiency in data analytics with the ability to analyze large datasets from multiple sources including Nielsen POS/Panel, Circana, 84.51 (M6 and Stratum) and Space Planning
• Demonstrated ability to build indispensable, collaborative partnerships with retail customers, account team, and internal business partners
• Proven experience in a customer-facing role with strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage the customer in both in-person and virtual settings
• Strong analytical skills and curiosity with the ability to distill complex data into simple stories
• Ability to travel 10%

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Develop and cultivate business relationships that establish MARS as the indispensable partner for all category management needs by delivering best-in-class insights and influence Kroger to implement SBD principles to meet or exceed annual Perfect Store Goals
• Leverage data from multiple sources (internal insights team, 84.51, Nielsen, and KCC) to create impactful recommendations that identify key market voids, risks and recommendations (ie. distribution, assortment mix, shelving and placement) which are presented during the KBRs and KOMPASS process
• Build comprehensive knowledge of the products, strategies, tactics, and competitive trends in the marketplace for and collaborate with account team to develop long term strategies to grow share at Kroger
