Responsibilities
- Indirect category management globally
- Manage the indirect category spend for MSA North America
- Identify opportunities to enable efficiencies
- Support the ELT in achieving business goals through best practice sourcing and supply chain processes
- Analyze forecasted shifts in supply markets, industry trends and supplier economic cycles.
- Create and drive (partnering with cross-functional stakeholders where applicable) long-term global category strategies for indirect spend designed to fulfil enterprise-wide requirements and achieve maximum life-cycle value.
- Segment suppliers in accordance with defined strategy.
- Ensure cross-functional and cross-regional alignment to ensure strategies are consistently implemented
- Drive master data integrity
- Build and lead environmentally- and ethically-sound procurement practices of contracted goods and services which includes compliance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations
- Cost management control
- Cost management through control, analysis and communication of relevant financial controls.
- Lead and drive category-based spend analysis, identify future cost savings pipeline and implement savings initiatives.
- Lead the process to determining and developing sources of supply, maintaining cooperative working relationships and staying current with trends in technologies, products and services.
- Ensure participation in contract creation, reviews and renewals, developing strategy for indirect spend
- Supplier relationships
- Manage key supplier relationships, performance, and commercial agreements
- Ensure supplier financial performance reports to monitor supplier KPIs such as delivery, quality, and cost
- Lead the management of the approved vendor list, ensuring the selection of reliable and high-performing suppliers
- Lead the contracting, contract management, and risk assessment/mitigation
- Continuous improvement and high performing organization
- Use metrics and analytics to understand areas for opportunity and change within the team
- Periodically conduct health check on process and outcome
- Support MSA projects, both internal and external to Category Management
- Lead cross-functional team meetings and effective communication
Qualifications
Experience (required):
- Experience of working in manufacturing environment
- Experience in procurement and sourcing
- Experience in translating and executing strategy into operational reality
- Experience in driving efficiency in global processes and standard work
- Ability to make data driven and analytical decisions by identifying trends and opportunities, making problems visible and utilizing financial acumen to justify investments and influence decisions.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement, promoting the use of root cause problem solving, valuing new ideas, inspiring others, and demonstrating effective use of change management principles.
- Stakeholder management to align priorities, resources, and support to achieve strategic and common goals.
Experience(preferred):
- Experience in leveraging MSA business systems
Education (required):
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related discipline.
Education (preferred):
- Advanced degree
- Continuing education in management studies.
- Membership in related field.
Travel:
- Estimated 20% Travel may vary depending on home location
