- Cardiothoracic Surgery PA in Dallas
Description
StaffMed Health Partners has partnered with one of the large healthcare systems in Dallas metro to assist them with recruiting an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to Join a dynamic Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This PA will work alongside 4 experienced surgeons and 3 PAs. This is a high-autonomy role focused on full-spectrum adult cardiac care—pre-op, intra-op, post-op, and outpatient follow-up—at their flagship hospital in Dallas.
Practice Highlights:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, APPs, and specialists
- First-assist in OR, manage pre- and post-operative care, ICU/step-down rounding
- Focused support of one lead surgeon, with shared call (1:3 weekday, 1:4 weekend)
- Perform procedures including chest tube removal, wound care, and line removal
- Mix of inpatient and outpatient care
- Contribute to patient education, discharge planning, and quality initiatives

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current Texas PA license and NCCPA certification
- Minimum 2 years of Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience required
- 2–3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, or related surgical specialty
- BLS, ACLS, and DEA registration required
- Strong clinical skills in managing complex surgical patients, both inpatient and outpatient
- Excellent communication, procedural, and EMR documentation skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a high-acuity setting
