Position Summary
We are searching for a dynamic and accomplished Procurement Specialist to join the Global Procurement team. The CAPEX Contracts & Logistics Specialist V position will support the capital equipment strategy and will closely partner with engineering and operations teams to develop sophisticated contracts and oversee the logistics of essential CAPEX equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in CAPEX OEM and construction contract formulation, as well as logistical coordination within heavy industry environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, with a focus on OEM and construction contract development for major capital projects.
Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with OEMs, EPCM, construction firms, and logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of capital assets.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Legal, EPCM, and Project Management teams to establish technical specifications, risk allocation, and project milestones.
Oversee logistics planning for major equipment, including customs clearance, duties, taxes, tariffs, transportation, warehousing, and site deliveryensuring alignment with project schedules and site requirements.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies that drive value, mitigate risks, and support innovation for CAPEX investments, leveraging knowledge of global supply markets.
Support project budgeting and forecasting by providing market intelligence, cost estimates, and lead time analysis.
Ensure all procurement and logistics activities comply with policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, PMP) a plus.
Demonstrated experience in CAPEX procurement, specifically OEM and construction contract development, negotiation, and administration for large-scale industrial projects.
Proven expertise in logistics management for capital equipment, including coordination of multimodal transportation and site logistics for heavy and oversized loads.
Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract terms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC), and risk management as related to construction and equipment procurement.
Proficiency in procurement and project management systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, MS Project) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic project environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Ability to travel 60%70% as required.
