Description
Position Title: Cabinet Assembler Level IDepartment Location: Operations - Cabinet Production
Reports To: Cabinet Production Manager, Cabinet
Assembler Level III, CNC Operator Level III,
Cut Room Operator Level III
Employees Supervised: None
Interrelationships: Internal - Production Staff
FLSA Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt
Employee Classification: Regular, Full-Time
Position Summary:
Manufacture fixtures, cabinets, displays and other components using power tools, hand
tools, and machinery. Finished work is completed on time and meets FCI safety and
quality standards. Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Building/assembling (95%): Follow guidelines to produce various components
including cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and other parts. Follow all safety
regulations. Operate in a manner that ensures efficient use of materials and
equipment.
2. Housekeeping (5%): Responsible for maintaining shop cleanliness. Sweep and
organize personal area at the end of each day. Put all tools away after use. Clean
and clear machinery after use. Empty any full trash cans. Place usable scraps in
designated bins. Assist with disposal of dust collector bags as prompted by CNC
Operators or Level III employees.
Qualifications:
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience: Experience in cabinet fabrication preferred. General knowledge in the
use of shop machinery and hand tools. Understand safe operating guidelines on all
equipment. Can read shop drawings. Experience in reading a tape measure.
Personal Attributes Required:
Work independently or in a team environment, with basic organizational skills and have
attention to detail. Read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Read and
understand shop drawings along with written procedures/instructions. Retain
knowledge and reproduce recurring projects consistently and independently.
Essential Physical/ Mental Requirements:
1. Work requires standing for eight hours a day with frequent bending, lifting,
and reaching. Fine manual dexterity is required.
2. Work is performed in a shop environment with periodic loud noises and
exposure to potentially harmful solvents. This requires employees to wear
appropriate personal protection equipment.
3. Need to occasionally move and handle loads of up to 70 lbs.
4. May be required to be trained and certified on FCI forklifts.
5. Must be able to read 8-point font, with or without corrective lenses, at a
distance of 2 feet.
Specific Accountabilities:
1. Follow all safety procedures.
2. Maintain FCI quality standards.
3. Assist in the fabrication of cabinetry, fixtures, and other components with a
basic knowledge of machinery & hand tools.
4. Meet established build times, meet project time expectations, and meet
deadlines.
5. Read and follow shop drawings to properly build cabinetry.
6. Work with other team members as needed.
7. Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and trash removal.
8. Assist in receiving, stocking, and organizing materials and hardware.
9. Properly fill out work orders and deliver product to correct location.
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager or Level III
employees, relating to production of company needs.
