About the Role
San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Business Office Assistant to support our administrative and financial operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day office functions while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and resident confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow schedules/instructions from your supervisor and established facility policies and procedures.
- Assist in organizing, planning, and directing administrative activities.
- Maintain minutes of meetings and ensure proper filing of documents.
- Serve as a key representative of the community, supporting positive public relations and awareness.
- Support the Administrator, DON, and Business Office Manager in administrative tasks.
- Perform clerical and accounting functions such as cash receipts and ancillary data.
- Assist with HR and payroll duties as needed.
- Maintain strong working relationships with all departments and staff.
- Record and file incidents/accidents per policy.
- Assist with administrative studies and special projects.
- Ensure adequate supply of office equipment and materials.
- Protect and maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including PHI (Protected Health Information).
- Adhere to ergonomics and safety policies to prevent workplace injuries.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of clerical functions and computer literacy.
- Proficiency in Excel preferred.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator.
- Familiarity with office machines and equipment (copier, fax, scanner, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of situations.
- Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively.
- Frequent use of office-related equipment.
- Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer.
- Work environment typically low to moderate noise.
- May assist in emergency evacuations of residents if needed.
