- Associate Vice President of Audit Services and Institute Compliance & Chief Compliance Officer
Description
The California Institute of Technology (Caltech), the world-renowned science and engineering institute that marshals some of the world's brightest minds and most innovative tools to address fundamental scientific questions and pressing societal challenges, seeks a proven leader to serve as Associate Vice President (AVP) of Audit Services and Institute Compliance & Chief Compliance Officer. This senior role oversees internal audit, compliance, and enterprise risk management functions across Caltech and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
The AVP will lead a high-performing team to deliver best-in-class audit and compliance services, develop and implement risk-based audit and compliance plans, advise senior leadership and trustees, and ensure adherence to complex laws, regulations, and policies. The role requires exceptional strategic, operational, and interpersonal skills; the ability to inspire trust and navigate complex compliance landscapes; and experience leading audit and compliance in large, multifaceted organizations.
Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (MBA or master’s preferred), with a minimum of 10 years of senior-level audit and compliance leadership. Strong communication skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and eligibility for security clearance are required.

The anticipated and budgeted hiring salary range is $340,000 to $360,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
