Description
We are a INDEPENDENT, privately-owned, well established practice leader in the valley. We're offering up to $150,000 yearly salary!!! No Emergency night call... No long weekends of working when you'd rather be home with your family. You'll be the third veterinarian in a thriving, busy practice.
With two experienced veterinarians, we can offer mentorship for new grads or any level of experience. Dr. Michael loves surgery, internal medicine, and critical care. Dr. Pam loves dental work, total pet health care, and helping other veterinarians learn ways of improving their skills and knowledge.
Pets First Animal Clinic has been a leader in Boise since 1987. We are a growing practice that wants to add an additional associate veterinarian, either full time or part time to fit your schedule. Boise is exploding with people moving into the valley, and we'd love to have you join our group!
Being a privately owned clinic, you can practice how YOU were taught. Not a mega corporation checking in on your every move. We love to collaborate on tough or difficult cases and share ideas. If you like surgery, but want to do more, you'll get to. From enucleations, to knees, to exploratory surgeries, you can learn as well as teach us in some things! If internal medicine is more your liking, we can tailor the position to your strengths.
Our amazing staff are kind, confident and friendly as well as knowledgeable in all aspects of veterinary care. Amy, our lead technician of 18 years enjoys surgery, talking to clients, and having fun. Cortney, our "go-getter" technician of ten years, will help you with any technical or procedural problem in the clinic. They love to laugh, play practical jokes on each other, but can be your lifeline in the middle of a tough exploratory surgery. Our employee turnover is very low, mainly due to their passion and shared love of caring for animals with our guidance. We are highly rated by our clients with a loyal following of dedicated pet owners.
Boise, Idaho:
Yes, potatoes. But so much more!! Boise is one of the fastest growing communities in the whole country. The weather is incredible! Summers are hot but dry with little humidity. Friendly people, with a melting-pot population from all over. There are tons of things to do! For outdoorsy people there's camping, boating, fishing, skiing, hiking, and exploring the mountains. In the city there are an amazing spread of restaurants, live theater, concerts, festivals, ballet, farmers markets and more. The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is a favorite outdoor summer theater you have to experience! The Boise School District is excellent if you have or are planning on having kids. So many great reasons to live here no matter the life-stage you are in...
Scheduling and Hours:
We're open from 7am-5pm M-F, closed Saturdays except once per month. Veterinarians take appointments from 8:30-4pm M-F, and 8:30-1pm Saturdays once per month split between the doctors. So you can go HOME after your last appointment at 4-4:15pm and run errands, or go shopping, or go home with your family.
No Emergency Call!!! There's a major referral hospital less than 5 miles away. We can tailor your schedule to your needs and build it how you want, whether its 3 days per week or 5 days per week. Shared Saturdays average 1-2 per month. Each veterinarian gets a dedicated weekly surgery day so they can focus just on their 5-6 surgeries, then get out of there and go play!!....
