Job Summary: Associate Specialist, Middle Office, Trade Operations, Omnium Services
The Middle Office Trade Operations Associate Specialist plays a key role in the trade lifecycle by ensuring the accurate and timely capture, confirmation, and settlement of trades. The successful candidate will be a mature self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment. This person needs to be able to resolve conflict within a short period of time. This person will be intellectually curious, intuitive, trustworthy and have the highest ethical standards. In addition, he/she will be effective addressing a number of internal and external audiences in a professional manner. This person will add value by working on a number of simultaneous tasks with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through.
Key Responsibilities:
- Can identify inefficiencies and implement standardized processes and procedures
- Involved in development life cycle with writing business requirements and testing
- Training new hires and junior partners
- Evaluating bespoke client requests and analyzing next steps
- Can independently and confidently manage projects
- Expertise in BAU trade operations
- Ownership of onboarding new clients and helps transition to the BAU teams
Job Knowledge & Skills:
- Exceptional written, oral communication and people skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (ability to create macros is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and effective time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under extremely time sensitive conditions
- Excellent analytical skills and intellectually curious
- Operate with a continuous improvement and innovation mindset
- Full understanding of platform systems, workflows, and upstream/downstream dependencies and asset class expertise
- Model and embed Northern Trust cultural behaviors
WORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- 7-10+ years of industry experience in trade operations
- Hold themselves accountable and is passionate about delivering high quality work and servicing clients

Salary Range:
$95,600 - 162,400 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
