- Associate Professor of Chemistry, Tenure-Track (Analytical)
Description
The department of chemistry at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time tenure-track
appointment in chemistry at the rank of associate or full professor, beginning August, 2026. Applicants with
significant analytical chemistry teaching experience and a desire to utilize their analytical knowledge and skills
in mentoring undergraduates, conducting research, and teaching introductory and upper-level chemistry
courses should apply.
The chemistry department at York College offers four majors (biochemistry, cannabis
chemistry, chemistry, and forensic chemistry) and is in the process of seeking approval by the ACS to award
certified degrees in chemistry. Each of our chemistry degrees is distinguished for its hands-on experiential
learning, small class sizes, and extensive student/faculty interactions. Nearly all graduating students
participate in at least one semester of independent research mentored by a faculty member. In support of
this culture of student-initiated research, the department is home to over $2M in analytical instrumentation
for student and faculty use, a sample of which includes 500 MHz NMR, ICP-MS, GC-MS, MALDI-TOF MS, XRF,
FT-IR (and microscope), Raman, RT-PCR, and a newly acquired LC-MS.
The new hire will join our team of full-time faculty with diverse research interests involving collaboration with students and
local industry partners.
