The Team
Alvarez & Marsal Tax, LLC is currently looking for an Associate for our International Tax team. This position seeks a diverse tax background with a focus in providing international tax and consulting services to our clients.
How you will contribute
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing IP migrations, integration planning, international M&A, and foreign tax planning
- Acquisition, disposition and internal restructuring
- Assisting tax provision and compliance teams with the proper computation and reporting of Section 904, Section 951A, Section 59A, and Section 163(j), including modeling the tax expense impact of these and other tax reform provisions
- Modeling transaction scenarios across jurisdictions
- Identifying matters to be addressed post-closing, including integration related risks and opportunities
- Demonstrating an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations
- Developing and delivering quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work product that meets and/or exceeds client expectations
- Preparing financial and tax models computing cash tax impacts of proposed planning
- Researching technical issues and draft memoranda pertaining to international issues, reorganizations, and restructurings
- Coordinating with foreign offices and other international tax and transfer pricing team members, to deliver highest quality integrated work product
- Assisting in developing and maintaining client relationships
- Providing research and help advise new cryptocurrency clients on cutting edge tax issues
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors and/or Master's in business administration, accounting, finance, taxation, JD, LL.M or other relevant field
- Definitive plans for meeting minimum educational requirements for CPA eligibility and licensure in the state of your assigned office location or membership to a State Bar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex information
- Strong analytical skills
- High proficiency in spreadsheets
- Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
- High motivation to learn and grow
- Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future. A&M will not sponsor applicants for US work visa status for this role

Compensation Statement
The annual base salary range is $85,000 - $90,000, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
Benefits Summary
Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions Over 30 hours
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k)-retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k)-retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.
