Position Title: Assistant Water Superintendent
Department: Public Works - Water
Reporting to: Utility Superintendent
FSLA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Salary Range: Assistant Superintendent: $75,000 - $85,000

Job Summary:
Seeking an Assistant Superintendent with a Class B Water Operator license to maintain and
operate water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and
responding to emergencies. Acts in a supervisory role over both Water and Wastewater
Operates in the absence of the Utility Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain water systems.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Collect samples and ensure compliance.
• Respond to emergencies and customer inquiries.
• Work closely with the public to rectify customer inquiries with meters, reads, go-backs,
  and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain records and collaborate with other departments.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of other water and wastewater department staff,
  ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5+ years of experience in water treatment.
• Valid Class B Water Operator License.
• Strong knowledge of water treatment processes.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various conditions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
