Job Summary
The AGV & Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems as well as providing on-site installation, repair, and maintenance services for our material handling systems at customer sites. This role ensures maximum system uptime and performance, working both independently and as part of a team to support mission-critical automation in airports, logistics and manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on AGV and material handling systems.
- Monitor the reliability of installations.
- Conduct system diagnostics and root cause analysis to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Support AGV and material handling system installations, commissioning, and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with engineering and software teams to identify system bugs and recommend enhancements.
- Provide on-site and remote support to customers for AGV and material handling systems operations.
- Maintain detailed service records, including repair logs, parts usage, and customer interactions.
- Train customer staff on AGV and material handling systems safety, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Adhere to all site safety protocols and company procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience in field service, automation, robotics, or industrial equipment maintenance.
- Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, navigation systems, and industrial networks (CAN, Ethernet/IP) & proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Proficient with basic hand tools, diagnostic tools, and laptops/software used for system interface.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 90%, including overnight stays.
- Internation travel 10%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AGV brands such as Kiva, JBT, Egemin, or similar.
- Familiarity with warehouse control systems (WCS) or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- OSHA 30 certification or other safety training credentials.
Work Environment
This position involves working in active airports, warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities.
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. and work in a variety of environmental conditions.
