Description
The Opportunity:The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Housing and Residence Life department is now accepting applications for an Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist II. This role is responsible for overseeing student accounts, handling all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, and communicating with students about their balances for the Department of Housing and Residence Life.
Responsibilities:
- Address account and customer service inquiries from residents, parents, prospective residents and other university units regarding housing accounts receivables and housing agreements.
- Monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances and contact students to resolve said balances.
- Record and reconcile rental, cancellation, late and miscellaneous charges, payments and adjustments to student accounts.
- Invoice, reconcile and analyze third party payments to student accounts, primarily from Florida Prepaid College Dormitory Program and Vocational Rehabilitation, on applications, rental prepayments, and rentals.
- Enter payment/deposit amounts received by mail into StarRez, reconcile and submit deposit to the Cashier's Office.
- Prepare refund requests for students and organizations arising from or related to cancelled applications, overpayments, or similar refund situations.
- Utilize PeopleSoft, StarRez, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel software to generate account queries and account reports on daily, weekly, monthly, semester and annual periods, as indicated or directed.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education.
- Customer Service experience via phone and electronic communication.
- Prior Housing work experience.
- Prior PeopleSoft/StarRez, Microsoft Excel and Word experience.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17.64 to $21.61. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This is an auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
