Description
he Division of Trauma-Critical Care Surgery at Creighton University Medical Center and CHI Health is recruiting a BC/BE Trauma-Critical Care Surgeon to be part of our vibrant ACS designated Level I Trauma-Critical Care Surgery program and expand our clinical, surgical, research, and educational activities in conjunction with our Department of Surgery. We are currently 8 Trauma/Critical Care surgeons (7 FTEs) and interviewing for a 9th full time position due to departmental growth.
CUMC is one of only two Level 1 trauma centers in Nebraska (both are located in Omaha) and serves a large catchment area encompassing most of Nebraska and western Iowa. The next closest Trauma Centers are in Kansas City and Des Moines. Our program is part of our integrated, multispecialty system, working with every member of the Trauma team committed to the highest outcome of every procedure we perform. Our division is supported by many other resources associated with our academic institution, including a Research Department within the Division of Trauma-Critical Care Surgery.
Resident activity with the Department of Surgery is highly engaging at our University Medical Center and Level I Trauma Center.
- Work in an academic and teaching environment educating Creighton University's surgical residents and medical students
- Conduct research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit and Creighton University School of Medicine.
- Additional Department of Surgery leadership opportunities are also available based on the applicant's experience and track record
- Work is divided into three (3) services lines including General Surgery, Trauma, and ICU, each with robust resident support
- Night and day shift APP support 7 days/week on Trauma and ICU
- Average four (4) 24 hour call shifts per month
- Highly competitive salary, no RYU requirements

- Strong subspecialty support (GI, IR, Ortho, Neurosurgery)
- Multidisciplinary trauma activation support including ED and Anesthesia
